The mirror has a motion sensor that detects movement nearby. When triggered, it plays a scare video, audio clip, or message based on the mode you've selected:

Ritual Mode uses cloud-based voice recognition to listen for your trigger phrase. After you say the phrase, it takes about 10-12 seconds for the mirror to transcribe what you said and trigger the scare.
We've found this slight delay actually adds to the ritual's suspense — the mirror "considers" your summons before responding. Many users report it feels more authentic this way.
No. The Haunted Mirror does not contain a camera. It uses a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor to detect movement, not a camera. There is no recording, photographing, or filming of any kind.
The microphone is only active when Ritual Mode is enabled and only listens for the configured trigger phrase. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Each Haunted Mirror is hand-built. Your unit will ship within 7-10 business days of your order. Once shipped, ground shipping takes 5-7 business days (Standard) or 2-3 business days (Expedited).
The mirror contains a lithium battery, so it ships ground only — no air or expedited overnight shipping is available.
We currently ship to the United States only. International shipping isn't available at launch due to lithium battery import regulations, but it's on our roadmap.
Hand-built launch units are returnable within 14 days of delivery if unused and in original condition. Customer pays return shipping.
Defective units are covered by a 90-day workmanship warranty — we'll repair or replace at our cost. Email support@haunted-mirror.com to start a return or warranty claim.

For Halloween night, popular spots are entryways, bathroom mirrors, hallways, and porches (covered).
The mirror is intended for ages 13 and up due to startle effects. Adult supervision is required when used around younger children. Some content may not be appropriate for very young children — please preview your content library and avoid using the mirror to frighten anyone with photosensitive epilepsy, heart conditions, anxiety disorders, or PTSD.

The mirror sends its online status, current mode, and device ID to our cloud so the app can display and control it. Your uploaded content (videos, audio, messages) is stored in your private account and is never shared.
The mirror does NOT have a camera and does NOT record video or photos. The microphone is only active during Ritual Mode and only listens for the configured trigger phrase.

From the iOS app: Dashboard → tap your profile icon → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, linked devices, uploaded content, messages, and community submissions. This action cannot be undone.
