Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how AI Creations LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Haunted Mirror device, the Haunted Mirror companion mobile app, and the haunted-mirror.com website (collectively, the "Service").
Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (hashed and stored securely).
Device Data: Each Haunted Mirror sends its online status, current mode, settings, and device ID to our cloud so the app can display and control it.
Uploaded Content: Videos, audio, and messages you upload are stored in secure cloud storage linked to your account. You retain ownership of all uploaded content.
Order Information: When you purchase a product, we collect your name, email, shipping address, and phone number for order fulfillment. Payment is processed entirely by our payment processor — we do not store credit card numbers.
Microphone Use & Voice Recognition
The microphone is not used in any other mode. The Pi camera is not used at any time. The mirror does not record video or photographs of you. You can disable the microphone entirely in Settings.
How We Use Information
- Operate and maintain your Haunted Mirror device and account
- Sync content between the app and your mirror
- Process and ship orders
- Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, account notifications)
- Send newsletter and giveaway updates if you subscribe
- Respond to support requests
- Improve the product
How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with these categories of service providers, and only to operate the Service:
- Cloud infrastructure providers — hosting, database, file storage, email delivery
- Payment processor — for order payment and fraud prevention
- Voice recognition provider — for Ritual Mode wake word matching
- Shipping carriers — name, address, and phone for delivery
Current providers include AWS (cloud), Stripe (payments), and standard US shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx). This list may change over time as we add or replace vendors.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AI Creations LLC, our customers, or others.
Data Retention
Account data and uploaded content are retained as long as your account is active. Messages auto-expire based on your retention setting (1, 3, 7, 21 days, or forever). Order records are kept for 7 years for tax and legal compliance. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the app: Dashboard → profile icon → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, linked devices, uploaded content, messages, and community submissions. This action cannot be undone.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: encryption at rest, encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), restricted access controls, and signed verification for payment events.
Children's Privacy
The Haunted Mirror is intended for adults and supervised use with children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, contact us immediately at support@haunted-mirror.com.
Your Rights
You may request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate data, or delete your account at any time. Email support@haunted-mirror.com with your request. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent changes. Material changes will be notified via email and a notice in the app.
